A) Voice words at random about what you see and feel while moving from a point to another and record them together with surrounding sounds (Tape A).

A’) With a movie camera, shoot A from behind, while maintaining a certain distance (Film A’). (At the time, I decided to move from Kamimeguro, where I lived, to Tokiwa Gallery in Kanda, about 50 minutes away.)

B) Play Tape A, have a trained vocalist spontaneously voice sounds, which they imagine while listening to it, and record both sounds (Tape B──Sounds of A and B overlap). (At the time, I asked a classical music vocalist.)[…]

C) Play Tape A, have a percussionist spontaneously beat sounds, which they imagine while listening to it, and record both sounds (Tape C──Sounds of A, B, and C overlap). (At the time, I asked a jazz drummer to beat drums.)

Set three pairs of speakers to play Tapes A, B, and C and a movie projector to project Film A’ on a wall in the inner gallery, in the front.

D) Play Tapes A, B, C, and Film A in sequence by shifting them every 10 minutes and record them on Tape D. (At the time, when I play each tape, I just stand in the center of a pair of speakers, trying to suggest the difference between the artist as the source and the sounds at the site.)
